A joint operation by the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) has led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with the kidnapping of Kosovo citizen Milan Vukashinović. The arrest was carried out today in Leshak as part of intensive investigations into the case.

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, confirmed the news, emphasizing that the operation was a close collaboration between the Police and AKI.

The arrested individual, identified by the initials V.M., is a former member of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs who had integrated into the Kosovo Police under the 2013 agreement but later resigned. Authorities suspect that V.M. supported Serbian security structures and played a role in the kidnapping of Milan Vukashinović on November 1, 2025, within Kosovo territory.

During the kidnapping, Vukashinović was seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Serbia. Investigations indicate that the suspect had contacts with Serbian intelligence and military structures, trained young Serbs, and was involved in preparations for the terrorist attack in Banjskë.

Minister Sveçla stressed that no individual will evade justice in Kosovo and assured that security institutions have full capacity to address threats and investigate every crime.
