The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo has announced that the counting of additional mail-in ballots will continue today at the Counting and Results Center (CRC) in Prishtina.

CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi confirmed on Tuesday evening that the CRC has completed the counting of ballots cast through conditional voting and voting by persons with special needs.

According to Elezi, on January 6, election officials counted ballots from 57 polling stations where conditional voting was conducted on December 28, as well as 37 ballot boxes containing votes cast by persons with special needs, whose participation was enabled on election day through mobile voting teams.

“On Tuesday, January 6, the Counting and Results Center completed the counting of ballots from 57 polling stations where conditional voting was conducted, as well as 37 ballot boxes containing ballots from voters with special needs,” Elezi stated.

He further explained that the next phase of the counting process will focus on ballots submitted via postal voting.

“The continuation of the counting process will include mail-in ballots retrieved on January 2 and January 5, 2026, from postal boxes located outside Kosovo,” Elezi added.

The CEC emphasized that the process is being carried out in accordance with electoral procedures and transparency standards, as part of efforts to finalize the election results.
