Iran appears to be preparing its public for war as it considers its options for retaliating against the killing of a Hamas leader in Tehran last week, which is suspected to have been carried out by Israel. In recent days, Iranian state television has aired interviews with Iranians calling for Tehran to take revenge against the country’s sworn enemy.
However, messages sent to the Iranian Service of Radio Free Europe reveal that some Iranian citizens fear a direct war with Israel.
