A person was arrested in a village in Leposaviq after being found in possession of a hunting rifle with ammunition.
During a search of the suspect’s home, police discovered additional weapons, cartridges, and a military jacket along with other military gear.
“During the execution of police duties and authorizations to maintain order and security in the northern part of the country, specifically in the mountainous area of a village in Leposaviq, the Kosovo Police encountered a suspected individual with a hunting rifle and ammunition. Based on reasonable suspicion that the suspect R.M. (born in 1976, male, Kosovar) possessed additional weapons, his home was searched. During the search, a semi-automatic weapon, an 8.75mm rifle, an air rifle, cartridges of various calibers, several knives, and a jacket with other military equipment were found. The prosecutor has been informed of the case, and by decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been placed in detention for up to 48 hours,” the police statement said.
