A Ukrainian drone strike set fire to an electrical equipment factory in the city of Korenevo in Russia’s Kursk region, the region’s interim governor, Alexei Smirnov, said in a Telegram post.
Korenevo is located about 25 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
None of the workers were injured,” Smirnov said, adding that the fire at the factory was extinguished by firefighting teams.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses shot down 13 Ukrainian drones overnight, including one over the Kursk region.
Ukraine did not comment on these claims.
Since the beginning of 2024, numerous companies in the oil sector in Russia have been attacked by drones, for which primary oil processing units have stopped working in some refineries.
As Reuters reports, in the first quarter of this year, at least seven Russian factories stopped production. /REL/
