At least three people have lost their lives in a fire that broke out in a hospital in the northern German city of Hamburg.
More than 50 people were injured, with 16 of them, according to DW reports, in serious condition. At least one person is in critical condition.
The fire started shortly after midnight in one of the buildings of the Marien Hospital in the Hohenfelde district of the city.
Thick smoke then spread through all floors of the building, said a spokesperson for the fire department.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
