Kosovo’s capital city has today received an important confirmation on its path toward hosting the 2030 Mediterranean Games.

At the Extraordinary Assembly of the ICMG, the presentation of Prishtina’s proposal and the continuation of preparations were approved, marking a significant step forward for both Prishtina and the entire country.

The news was announced by the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, who said that the city is moving confidently toward 2030 with a clear vision.

“The Mediterranean Games are not just about sports: they mean urban development, modern infrastructure, opportunities for youth, and an open window to present Prishtina to the world. Special thanks to the Kosovo Olympic Committee, the Capital City Administration, and the Government of Kosovo for their dedication and partnership in this journey.”

He also expressed gratitude to the Albanian Government and the Albanian Olympic Committee.

“Likewise, thank you to the Government of Albania and the Albanian Olympic Committee for enabling us access to the sea—cooperation that enriches this project and strengthens the Mediterranean dimension of the Games.”

“Together, we can always do more and do better. The hard work has just begun, and we will accomplish it together.”
