Naim Jakaj, a researcher at the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD), discussed on T7’s “Frontal” the request submitted by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) to the Constitutional Court regarding the secret ballot for the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo.
Jakaj stated that the court has its own deadlines, typically two months, and this case has already been pending for over a month. He noted that the Constitutional Court also has many other cases, including some from the eighth legislature.
“AAK’s request might not be a constitutional matter to be accepted… It might not be reviewed at all,” Jakaj said, as reported by Express. However, he clarified that this “doesn’t mean the Court won’t accept it.”
Jakaj’s comments suggest that the Constitutional Court might find the issue falls outside its jurisdiction for a constitutional review, potentially leading to the request’s rejection without a full deliberation on its merits.
