Pal Lekaj from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has expressed disappointment with NISMA leader Fatmir Limaj, citing his “hasty political moves.”

Lekaj stated that AAK has no obligation to Limaj and therefore will not provide a vote for him to take the position of Assembly Speaker.

“Regarding Limaj, we entered into a pre-election coalition, and he won three deputies. I can say that we are quite disappointed with Limaj’s actions, because after the elections, he came out with a statement saying ‘I offer cooperation with Kurti or with someone else,’ but prioritizing LVV. Whereas, our principles or pre-election coalitions, our entire political program, were based on the idea that we need a government without Kurti, not with Kurti,” Lekaj said on the “Ditari” show on Tëvë1.

He added, “Therefore, he has crossed that line, and I think AAK has no obligation towards Fatmir Limaj, because he has made hasty political moves and, I can say, disrupted the parties that were from the opposition camp, giving Kurti space to maneuver with numbers and saying ‘you don’t have the numbers either,’ since we are in discussions with NISMA or with Limaj.”

Lekaj views elections as the only solution to the current political situation.

The only solution is elections, because in this regard, as long as positions are frozen, then a comprehensive agreement can be made, where the Assembly is constituted and then dissolved to set the date for elections… AAK’s stance is that there is no vote for Fatmir Limaj,” he concluded.
