The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, said “we don’t have anything new” and that “we are trying to find a solution” after a meeting at the Assembly with Prime Minister Albin Kurti regarding the issue of the President.

He stated that no agreement was reached, but added that this “is the path that must be followed.”

“We are trying to find a joint, consensual solution through meetings. This is the path we must follow going forward. We will continue this path whenever possible to avoid elections,” he said.

Abdixhiku noted that “first, we need to agree on the principles of the process,” while also speaking about the possibility of a political agreement.

“So, should we have a situation where all institutional positions belong to just one political party? And then, if not, what would such an agreement look like? In these circumstances, we have not yet discussed political positions,” he said.

The LDK leader emphasized that “we are trying to find a solution.”

He added that no concrete names were mentioned since “we have not yet reached that stage.”

“Not all state positions can belong to one party. This is our position,” he said.
