The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has arrived at the Assembly to meet with the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
This meeting follows Prime Minister Kurti’s announcements about meeting with opposition leaders regarding the issue of the President.
Abdixhiku was asked whether he expects a consensus to be reached, but he added that he will only make a statement after the meeting.
“Let’s see now, we are going to the meeting. We will comment after the meeting,” Abdixhiku said briefly.
On Saturday, the former President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, handed over the duty to Albulena Haxhiu.
According to a decision by the Constitutional Court, the deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo have a deadline until April 28 to elect the new President of the country.
In the last elections on December 28, the Vetëvendosje Movement won over 51 percent of the votes.
