The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, stated that his party will not participate in the debate during the session for the election of the new government, emphasizing that it is now up to the mandate holder, Albin Kurti, to form the government, as he had declared he has the votes.

According to Abdixhiku, the lack of political dignity has kept Kosovo blocked for months. He stressed that any other justification now leads the country toward elections.

“Honorable ladies and gentlemen, LDK sees no point in the debate today, when the mandate holder initially admits he does not have a majority. Today, the essence of democracy should have emerged—the political majority. And from the majority come the major decisions for Kosovo. In this absence of basic recognition, instead of an exposé, we heard a summary of work—nicely fictional—which we completed in the previous legislature. Now we are in the new legislature, and at minimum, dignity should have been present. And dignity should have been expressed in a proper, manly way: to admit whether he has the numbers or not. The lack of dignity has led to unimaginable violations,” Abdixhiku said.

The LDK leader emphasized that his party sees no point in continuing the parliamentary debate in a situation where, according to him, the political majority necessary to form the government is missing.
