The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has described Kosovo’s inclusion in an international peace initiative led by U.S. President Donald Trump as a moment that goes beyond daily political news.

According to Abdixhiku, Kosovo’s presence at tables where global peace is discussed is both evidence of the country’s success and a responsibility tied to its role as a young state.

He emphasized that Kosovo is no longer viewed solely as a beneficiary of peace, but also as an active contributor to its construction.

His full statement:

Kosovo’s inclusion in an international peace initiative led by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is a moment that transcends any daily headline.

For a state that has transitioned from war to freedom—thanks in part to international intervention—its presence at tables where global peace is discussed is both evidence and responsibility. Evidence of our success, and responsibility stemming from our role as a young state. It is a sign that Kosovo is no longer seen only as a beneficiary of peace, but also as part of it.

In an increasingly fragile world, every joint step with the United States is a step that strengthens our national security, deepens our strategic alliances, and places Kosovo where it belongs—on the side of peace and just alliances.

The Democratic League of Kosovo supports this major step toward a new chapter and welcomes this historic development. Because Kosovo’s successes are national achievements in which we all take pride.
