The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, today hosted representatives and organizers of the National Prayer Breakfast from the USA at the LDK headquarters.

Abdixhiku stated that Kosovo needs the hand of friendship more than ever.

In a Facebook post, Abdixhiku further elaborated that the National Prayer Breakfast is a symbol of spiritual and political unity.

His full post read:

“Representatives and organizers of the National Prayer Breakfast from the USA, I hosted them today at the LDK Central Headquarters.

Gentlemen Van Vuong, Steve Savelich, and Ray Schmidt, accompanied by Professor Shala, we welcomed them together with Besian, Armend, and Visar. I thanked them for the continuous assistance that this decades-long organization has given to Kosovo and our representatives through time.

Kosovo needs the hand of friendship even more today. Our political journey has not been easy. But at every difficult turn, we have had the presence and support of our American friends – in prayer, in aid, in shared vision.

The National Prayer Breakfast is a symbol of spiritual and political unity – a place where differences are overcome for the sake of peace, understanding, and love for one another. In this spirit, the Kosovo-USA friendship was built. And in this spirit, we must preserve and deepen it.

The LDK, as the party that placed our relationship with the West at the foundation of Kosovo’s state identity, will continue to be the bridge of this sacred cooperation. We will always be grateful and always committed to preserving this alliance, as a treasure of our people.”
