The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, today hosted the Ambassador of Albania to Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, at the LDK Headquarters.
According to the LDK’s announcement, discussions during the meeting focused on the latest political developments in Kosovo, including the ongoing failure to constitute the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, and the LDK’s positions regarding this situation.
In this context, the LDK stated that Chairman Abdixhiku reiterated the LDK’s proposal for the establishment of a Government of Unity. This, he underscored, would be a temporary but necessary solution to overcome the current political impasse and restore the functionality of the country’s institutions.
“He emphasized that the political and institutional blockade is unacceptable, while the 27th consecutive failure to create a parliamentary majority demonstrates the winning party’s inability to ensure governmental stability. This situation poses a serious risk to the well-being of citizens and the normal course of state processes,” the LDK statement read.
Chairman Abdixhiku and Ambassador Malaj reportedly shared a common view on the necessity of deepening the fraternal relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania. They affirmed this as a fundamental pillar for strengthening regional cooperation and the joint progress of both countries.
The Democratic League of Kosovo expressed gratitude for Albania’s continuous support and reaffirmed its commitment to building bridges of cooperation in all fields.
