The leader of the Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, today met with Emanuele Giaufret, Managing Director for Western Europe at the European External Action Service (EEAS).
During the meeting, Abdixhiku discussed the party’s position on current political developments in Kosovo, focusing particularly on the situation surrounding the election of the President of the Republic and the role of Kosovo’s institutions in this process.
He emphasized that the primary responsibility for concluding this process lies with the parliamentary majority, expressing his belief that the matter “must be resolved through a political agreement, not by imposition.”
Regarding the possibility of new elections, Abdixhiku stated that LDK will enter any electoral process united and prepared, believing it can offer sustainable and developmental solutions for the country.
Abdixhiku also expressed LDK’s gratitude for the continued support Kosovo has received from the European Union, highlighting the EU’s important role in strengthening stability, democracy, and Kosovo’s European orientation.
He stressed the need to deepen bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, development, and European integration, considering this a crucial step toward a sustainable future and improved opportunities for Kosovo’s citizens.
