Today, Dr. Bujar Bukoshi, one of Kosovo’s most significant political figures of the 1990s and the former Prime Minister of the Government of Kosovo in exile, has passed away.
Throughout his political career, he also served as the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
In connection with his passing, the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted.
According to Abdixhiku, Bukoshi’s life and political engagement are the embodiment of patriotic dedication and unwavering commitment to Kosovo’s freedom and statehood.
“With deep sorrow, we received the news of the passing of your beloved and the former Prime Minister in exile, Dr. Bujar Bukoshi. His life and work are the embodiment of patriotic devotion and steadfast political engagement for the freedom and statehood of Kosovo. His contribution during the most difficult moments for our country is eternally cherished.
Dr. Bukoshi was among the founding figures of the Democratic League of Kosovo, later serving as its Secretary General at the time. With vision and courage, he made an extraordinary contribution to our journey toward freedom,” Abdixhiku wrote.
He further added that Bukoshi’s figure will forever remain an inseparable part of Kosovo’s state-building history, and his memory will live on for generations.
