Lumir Abdixhiku has responded to an invitation from Albin Kurti for a meeting regarding the issue of the President.
The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) said he will meet Kurti on the first day after the verdict of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.
“I thanked the Chairman of Vetëvendosje Movement, Mr. Kurti, for the invitation to meet regarding the issue of the President. I informed him that I will respond positively to this invitation on the first day after the verdict of the Constitutional Court.
Since the issue of electing the President is already under review by the Constitutional Court, we must understand that our political time temporarily pauses, while the time of constitutional deliberation takes the floor in its independence. By respecting this order, without other parallel political processes, we honor not only ourselves but also the Republic and the institutions that have been built with great effort.
The Court’s verdict must be awaited with full institutional respect and political calm. One hour after the verdict, we can meet again,” Abdixhiku wrote in his statement.
