The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, today met with the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, to discuss the nation’s ongoing institutional crisis. During the meeting, Abdixhiku presented Ambassador Rohde with the LDK’s proposal for the establishment of a transitional government, signaling a potential path forward to resolve the current political deadlock.
According to Abdixhiku, this proposed transitional government is envisioned as a temporary but necessary solution aimed at overcoming the existing impasse and restoring the functionality of the state. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the political and institutional blockade is unacceptable and directly undermines the well-being of Kosovo’s citizens, hindering normal state processes and institutional development.
During the discussions, Abdixhiku also conveyed the LDK’s deep appreciation for Germany’s continuous support to Kosovo, particularly in its efforts towards European integration, the strengthening of democratic institutions, and the country’s economic development. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to mutual cooperation and to further advancing the strong bilateral relationship between Kosovo and Germany.
The meeting highlights the growing concern within Kosovo’s political landscape regarding the current institutional stagnation and the search for viable solutions to ensure the effective governance of the nation. Abdixhiku’s proposal for a transitional government represents a significant development in these efforts, seeking to bridge the existing divides and pave the way for a more functional state.
