The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, met today with Emanuele Giaufret, Deputy Managing Director for Western Europe at the European External Action Service.
According to LDK, the meeting focused on the party’s position regarding current political developments in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the ongoing issue of electing the country’s president and the role of institutions in this process.
Abdixhiku stressed that the primary responsibility for concluding the process rests with the parliamentary majority, expressing his belief that the matter “should be resolved through political agreement rather than imposition.”
Regarding the possibility of early elections, Abdixhiku stated that the Democratic League of Kosovo would enter any electoral process united and prepared, confident in its ability to offer sustainable and development-oriented solutions for the country.
He also expressed LDK’s appreciation for the continued support of the European Union to Kosovo across various processes, highlighting its key role in strengthening stability, democracy, and the country’s European path.
Abdixhiku emphasized the need to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economic development and European integration, describing it as essential for Kosovo’s progress toward a more stable and prosperous future.
