The Municipality of Mitrovica has announced the death of academician Minir Dushi, stating that he was the first Albanian engineer and a distinguished figure in the field of minerals.
The municipality wrote on Facebook on Monday that Dushi was the founder of the technical higher education school in Mitrovica and the director at Trepça.
“It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of academician Minir Dushi, the first Albanian engineer and a prominent figure in the field of minerals. Dushi was a well-known and respected personality, the founder of the technical higher education school in Mitrovica, director at Trepça, and the first Albanian engineer who left a valuable legacy in the development of industry and science,” the statement reads.
The municipality will hold a memorial on Tuesday at the “Rexhep Mitrovica” Cultural Center.
“In these difficult moments, we express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all those who knew him and worked with him. His contribution will remain unforgettable and an inspiration for future generations. The Municipality of Mitrovica will hold a memorial at the ‘Rexhep Mitrovica’ Cultural Center from 12:00 to 14:00 tomorrow, in honor of his life and work. Rest in peace, academician Minir Dushi,” wrote the Municipality of Mitrovica.
