The participation of the German Bundeswehr in the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo has been extended for another year.

German State Secretary for Defense, Siemtje Möller, praised the decision, considering it an achievement of the German forces in contributing to the stability of Kosovo.

“Due to our long-standing and continuous support, not only military but also humanitarian and political for the Republic of Kosovo, Germany is considered a reliable partner—even among the population,” she emphasized in a speech in the Bundestag.

According to her, Germany has demonstrated its reliability to Kosovo and within the alliance.

She recalled that 25 years ago, a new Bundeswehr embarked on its first mission in Kosovo.

“We have been there for decades. This mission had a significant impact on many soldiers and continues to this day,” Möller said.

Germany’s international partners closely observed: “our positioning, our actions, our reliability.”

“Let us continue to firmly accompany the Republic of Kosovo on its path toward the European Union,” she concluded.
