The Acting Chief Prosecutor of the State, Agron Qalaj, during a regular collegium with chief prosecutors and representatives of the prosecutorial offices, discussed the handling of cases related to the early parliamentary elections held on December 28.
“On this occasion, Acting Chief Prosecutor Agron Qalaj acknowledged the commitment of all prosecutors, emphasizing that during the electoral process, prosecutorial offices acted with vigilance and professionalism, in accordance with their legal competencies, with the aim of guaranteeing the integrity of the electoral process and protecting the will of citizens expressed through their votes.”
Meanwhile, the National Election Coordinator, Prosecutor Laura Pula, provided information on the coordination between the prosecutorial offices and the National Coordinator regarding activities undertaken by all basic prosecutorial offices in cases where violations or suspected infringements of the electoral process were identified, specifically in cases involving misuse or falsification of votes.
“Additionally, the chief prosecutors of all basic prosecutorial offices reported on the concrete actions taken in the investigations conducted regarding these cases, specifically the collection of information and securing of relevant evidence concerning suspicions of vote manipulation for candidates for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
At the end of the meeting, Acting Chief Prosecutor Qalaj requested all chief prosecutors to unify investigative actions and practices across all prosecutorial offices in handling cases related to this electoral process, particularly in instances of vote misuse or falsification, in order to ensure the most efficient handling of all cases nationwide.”
