The Acting Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Ejup Maqedonci, met today with Martin Pfister, Federal Chancellor and Minister of Defense, Civil Protection and Sports of Switzerland, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in military training and education.
Minister Maqedonci emphasized the natural ties between Kosovo and Switzerland, largely due to the strong Kosovar diaspora present in the country. “There are natural bonds between our two countries, thanks to our diaspora, which plays a crucial role in strengthening our relations and contributing to Kosovo’s development,” Maqedonci stated.
The meeting focused on deepening cooperation in the field of military education and capacity building. Minister Maqedonci highlighted the progress made by the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) in recent years and underscored the importance of international partnerships in advancing Kosovo’s defense capabilities.
“A key step towards strengthening our defense capacity is enhancing cooperation in training and education,” he noted, adding that Kosovo’s aspiration to join the European Union and NATO remains essential for ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.
Both ministers agreed to advance collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Maqedonci thanked the Swiss government for its continuous support and expressed confidence in a shared path toward a safer and more secure future.
“Thank you to Switzerland for your support and trust. Together, we are moving toward a more secure future,” Maqedonci concluded.
