The acting Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, has expressed cautious optimism regarding the ongoing deadlock in Kosovo’s Assembly, stating that there are signs from certain political actors indicating potential progress toward its constitution.

“Each day we come with the hope that there will be reflection, so the Assembly can be constituted and we can enter the legal and constitutional deadlines for mandating the new government. This is in the interest of Kosovo, beyond personal or party agendas,” Peci stated.

He firmly opposed the idea of holding local and parliamentary elections simultaneously, calling it counterproductive for the country.

“I believe we must make every possible effort to have a constituted Assembly and a functioning government. Going to both local and parliamentary elections at the same time is not in Kosovo’s best interest,” he added.

According to Peci, there are ongoing signals from political actors that suggest movement may occur in the coming days. He emphasized that any party that contributes constructively toward resolving the impasse will be recognized and valued by Kosovar society.
