Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today attended the reception organized to celebrate Bastille Day, the National Day of the French Republic.

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that July 14 is not merely a remembrance of the past, but a continuous anniversary of freedom, humanity’s struggle for justice, and the birth of modern citizenship.

“Today, as we celebrate the 236th anniversary of that foundational moment of modernity, we look not only to the past but also to the future,” Prime Minister Kurti stated. “And the future demands that we not only preserve our ideals in words; it demands that we translate them into public policies, stable institutions, and tangible justice. Kosovo, as a young Republic, was born in the spirit of these ideals. We have chosen the path of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, not only because it is the most just path, but because it is the path that makes the country worthy of its citizens and a reliable partner for its friends.”

Kurti further expressed gratitude to France for its continuous support in Kosovo’s state-building and Euro-Atlantic integration, while also underscoring Kosovo’s commitment to its European integration journey.

He also thanked Ambassador Guerot for his efforts in deepening bilateral relations, from institutional support to promoting cultural and academic cooperation.
