Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met last night with Michael Reiffenstuel, Director for the Western Balkans at the German Federal Foreign Office, accompanied by the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, during a dinner hosted by the ambassador at his residence.

Discussions focused on bilateral relations and cooperation between Kosovo and Germany, particularly in the fields of economy and foreign investment, the situation in the Western Balkans region, European integration, as well as recent developments and the current political climate in Kosovo.

Prime Minister Kurti highlighted the country’s positive economic performance during the first half of the year, the outcomes of employment policies, and the smooth functioning of government and state institutions, including the protection of minority rights and their well-being.

He also expressed deep concern over the risks and challenges posed by disinformation campaigns and fake news, warning about their role in distorting facts and creating harmful narratives that undermine democratic societies and institutions.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Reiffenstuel for his visit and for Germany’s continuous support to the Republic of Kosovo.
