Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the farewell reception for the Ambassador of Finland to Kosovo, Matti Nissinen, held at the ambassador’s residence.

In his address, Kurti said they had gathered to celebrate the strong friendship between Kosovo and Finland, as well as Ambassador Nissinen’s outstanding service. He noted that Kosovo and Finland share many similarities.

“Among others, both are bordered by a larger neighbor that has historically shown aggression, a reality that has required us to remain constantly vigilant. But beyond geopolitical realities, most of what we share as two nations is positive and deeply rooted in the optimism of our peoples,” Kurti stated.

Reflecting on the ambassador’s role and contribution during his mandate, Kurti added:
“Over the past three years, Ambassador Nissinen has embodied the values of our partnership, helping to strengthen Kosovo’s path towards the European Union and supporting our application for membership in the Council of Europe. During his tenure, the Finland-Kosovo Economic Chamber was established. Finland also contributes to our security, being part of EULEX and the KFOR mission, with 59 officers currently serving in Kosovo.”

In addition to expressing gratitude, Kurti wished the ambassador success and continued prosperity in his career.
