Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the celebrities forced to evacuate her home due to the fires in California, has announced that her family will donate $1 million in aid.
In an Instagram post, she shared that she and her husband, actor and director Christopher Guest, along with their children, will establish a fund to support “our great city, our state, and the wonderful people who live here.”
Curtis also mentioned that she is in contact with officials to determine the best way to allocate the funds for maximum impact.
She accompanied her post with a photo of smoke rising above the famous Santa Monica Pier.
Curtis is among the film and television stars who reside in Pacific Palisades, an affluent area along the Los Angeles coastline, where a large, uncontrollable fire has been raging since Tuesday.
