Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani met today with the European Union’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sørensen. During the meeting, President Osmani called for the removal of “unjust measures” against Kosovo by the EU, which she said are most affecting its citizens.
Calls for European Integration and Fair Dialogue
Osmani emphasized the need to advance Kosovo’s European integration process and underscored the importance of democratic institutions, including the ongoing process of constituting the Assembly.
The President also addressed the issue of arbitrary arrests of Kosovo citizens by Serbia, urging the international community to take action to stop these illegal activities. She reiterated Kosovo’s commitment to its European path and democratic reforms, stating that these efforts should be rewarded with concrete steps from the EU, such as integration into international organizations, with a special focus on the Council of Europe.
Regarding the dialogue, Osmani stressed the importance of a fair and impartial process with clear objectives, which she believes would contribute to regional peace, stability, and a European perspective for the entire region.
