Following the United States, Germany has also urged Serbia to reconsider its draft law that designates Kosovo as a special protection zone under its jurisdiction for criminal offenses.

The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, shared a post from the German Foreign Office, which emphasized the need for both Kosovo and Serbia to implement the Ohrid Agreement.

On Platform X, the office requested Serbia to reconsider its draft law proclaiming Kosovo a special protection zone and extending its criminal jurisdiction over the territory.

“We ask Serbia to reconsider. Both countries, Kosovo and Serbia, must implement the 2023 Ohrid Agreement without delay, including the ASM,” stated their message on Platform X.

According to Rohde, who shared this request, Serbia’s action represents a clear violation of Dialogue obligations.

“Germany urges Serbia to reconsider its draft law that designates Kosovo as a special protection zone under its criminal jurisdiction, as it would constitute a clear violation of Dialogue obligations,” wrote the ambassador.
