Last week, British Ambassador Jonathan Hargreaves visited NATO headquarters in Brussels to discuss the potential involvement of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) in European missions. He mentioned Ukraine as a possible location where the FSK could play a role, while praising the force and highlighting its joint training exercises with British forces.
“I have seen firsthand that Kosovo’s security personnel are working towards NATO standards, and in everything they do – they have undertaken joint training with the United Kingdom to equip them to potentially become a useful partner in Ukraine or other countries in Europe,” Hargreaves said.
Following his return from Brussels, the British ambassador met with Acting Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci to discuss opportunities for deepening the partnership in this area.
“The United Kingdom has always been proud of our partnership with Kosovo in the field of security. Yesterday I met with Acting Minister of Defense Maqedonci to discuss how we can deepen our partnership, particularly in addressing European security threats,” Hargreaves wrote.
