Miroslav Lajčak, the EU Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, has announced his upcoming visit to Pristina to prepare for the next round of negotiations.
“After a brief stop in Brussels, I will head to Bled for this year’s Strategic Forum and then to Pristina to prepare for the next round of negotiators in Brussels,” Lajčak wrote on Facebook.
Former Dutch Ambassador to Kosovo, Robert Bosch, commented on Lajčak’s visit in an interview with “Bota Sot.”
He stated that while he is unsure of Lajčak’s exact goals for his visit, he hopes it will not hinder the government’s actions in the north regarding the dismantling of parallel structures.
“It is difficult for me to know what Lajčak wants. I hope he will not attempt, as many internationals have, to undo the measures taken by the government in the north to finally dismantle (11 years after the agreement) the parallel structures in the north.”
Bosch also noted that the actions in the north should be applauded rather than criticized.
According to him, integration of the north is positive for both Kosovo and the Serbs living there, and he hopes Lajčak’s visit does not create further tensions.
“It is good that the north is finally being fully integrated, and this should not be criticized but rather applauded. Integration is also beneficial for well-meaning Serbs living in the north, as it was in the south before Belgrade disrupted the peace and integration process through SL.
I cannot add much more, but I hope that Lajčak will not cause additional tensions by de facto supporting negative forces,” concluded Robert Bosch.
