Ahmeti Holds Key Meetings at the U.S. State Department, Focus on Deepening Bilateral Cooperation

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, held a meeting at the U.S. Department of State with the Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Daniel J. Lawton.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Ahmeti expressed gratitude for the continued support of the United States toward Kosovo, emphasizing the importance of the partnership between the two countries.

He praised the contribution of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to Kosovo’s economic development and the strengthening of strategic sectors, and thanked Lawton for the approval of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which reaffirms support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo.

“The focus of the discussion was the further deepening of cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, and the defense industry,” the statement said.

The parties also discussed dialogue with Kosovo’s Serb citizens, emphasizing the importance of inclusion, integration, and strengthening trust between communities as a prerequisite for long-term stability and democratic development.
