Kushtrim Ahmeti, representative of the Chamber of Commerce, strongly denied claims that today’s business protest action was a barricade, as labeled by some institutional representatives.

“Calling it a ‘barricade’ is completely misleading. Two lanes were open, and traffic was regulated and controlled by the Kosovo Police. What kind of barricade are we talking about here?” Ahmeti stated during an interview with RTV Dukagjini.

He emphasized that the entire action was fully coordinated with the Kosovo Police, who managed traffic flow and ensured that movement continued without any disruptions.

Ahmeti explained that the business protest stems from institutional unwillingness to provide solutions. Despite numerous discussions with government officials, he said no concrete steps have been taken.

“We, as businesses and their representatives, were forced to take this step after many discussions—even informal ones—because officially, nothing has been done. We’ve presented all our analyses, and meetings keep happening, but there’s no action.”

He concluded that this institutional irresponsibility is severely hampering the private sector’s ability to function.
