Aida Birinxhiku, an Albanian-Swedish Member of Parliament, is rapidly distinguishing herself as one of the most significant voices of the new generation within Sweden’s Social Democratic Party.
At the party’s 42nd Congress, Aida notably chaired the proceedings with dignity and dedication, skillfully managing over 4,000 motions and 10,000 proposals.
Birinxhiku, whose roots are in Kosovo, has become the youngest MP in the Swedish Parliament, representing the Halland constituency for the Social Democratic Party.
Born in Sweden in 1999 to parents who immigrated in 1998, Aida pursued her studies at Lund University and holds a law degree, as reported by albinfo.ch. Her involvement in politics began in 2014 through the Social Democratic youth organization in Halland, where she later became its chairperson. In 2018, she was elected to the municipal council of Falkenberg.
In the 2022 parliamentary elections, Aida was elected as a Member of Parliament, making her the first Albanian woman in the Swedish Parliament and the youngest member of that legislature. She is currently a member of both the Committee on Industry and Trade and the Committee on European Union Affairs.
