Ajvaz Shehu, one of the youngest victims of the Krushë e Vogël massacre, was laid to rest on the 27th anniversary of the tragic event, after his family finally decided to give him a dignified farewell.

Although his remains were found and identified eight years ago, the burial had been postponed because his mother had not accepted her son’s death. Only after her passing did the family decide to bury Ajvaz alongside other relatives killed in the massacre.

Ajvaz Shehu was only 16 years old when he was forcibly taken during the massacre on March 26, 1999, one of the gravest crimes of the Kosovo War.

The decision to bury him on the 27th anniversary marks a moment of both profound sorrow and spiritual relief for the family, as after many years of waiting, they now have a place to remember and honor him.
