Around 8,000 police officers in Albania holding basic roles are expected to receive a bonus for the year-end holidays. The government is discussing whether to allocate a sum of 10,000 or 15,000 lek, with a decision to be finalized within the week.

In the public administration, police officers are also expected to receive a bonus for the year-end festivities.

The allocation of bonuses for officers has been discussed for several days, specifically for the approximately 8,000 police officers in basic roles.

The government has not yet made a final decision on the financial amount to be allocated to the police forces, but individual discussions suggest the amount could be either 10,000 or 15,000 lek.

So far, the year-end bonus has been approved for positions in the administration such as drivers, sanitation workers, protocol staff, and archive workers.

If the same approach is followed in the police structure, some hierarchical levels, such as those in leadership positions, will be excluded from the bonus, meaning around 4,000 employees will not receive it.

Meanwhile, police officers in Albania have already switched to a 12-hour shift schedule, and their readiness will continue until January 3, in order to ensure order and security during the year-end festivities.
