Albania secured an important victory in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, beating Latvia 1-0.

The match was dominated by the Red and Blacks, with the only goal coming in the 25th minute — a perfectly executed penalty by Asllani.

Albania came close to doubling the lead several times through Bajrami, Manaj, and Gjimshiti, but couldn’t find the target.

In the final minutes, the team looked less focused, allowing Latvia a few chances to equalize, but thanks to decisive interventions from Strakosha and Manaj, Albania’s goal remained untouched.

With this win, Albania climbs to second place in Group K, helped also by England’s 5-0 victory over Serbia. The Red and Blacks close their September fixtures inside the “Play-Off” zone.
