Albania is set to welcome regional leaders on Monday, June 16, for the Ministerial of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the event via social media, emphasizing its importance for Albania’s diplomatic standing, as reported by klankosova.tv. Rama stated that the Albanian government is fully committed to fostering the progress of regional countries toward EU integration.
“Albania, once again at the center of international diplomacy. On June 16, 2025, the Ministerial of the South-East European Cooperation Process will take place. Our country is fully committed to promoting the progress of the region’s countries towards EU integration,” the Albanian Prime Minister wrote on Facebook.
Tirana assumed the SEECP Chairmanship for the July 2024-June 2025 period, succeeding Skopje, with Sofia slated to take over next. The South-East European Cooperation Process was initiated in 1996 during a meeting of participating countries’ Foreign Ministers in Sofia, while the first SEECP Summit was held in Crete in 1997.
