The Albanian government has officially approved a decision enabling the reactivation of military reservists, marking a strategic move to bolster the country’s defense readiness.
Proposed by the Ministry of Defense and approved by the Council of Ministers, the decision allows former officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, and sailors to return to active duty if their expertise is deemed necessary by the Armed Forces.
According to the government, the measure addresses current gaps in defense personnel and taps into a pool of experienced professionals capable of contributing immediately to operational effectiveness.
“This is a proactive step to ensure the Armed Forces remain prepared and staffed with qualified individuals,” stated a government spokesperson.
The Ministry of Defense will announce open positions via its official website, with applications processed digitally through the national platform e-Albania.
Candidates will undergo a rigorous selection process, including documentation review, security clearance, and evaluation by dedicated military panels.
This reactivation initiative follows broader regional trends of strengthening military readiness amid evolving security challenges in Europe and the Balkans.
