The Albanian police have announced that they are implementing security measures for the national protest organized by the opposition, scheduled for 6:00 PM today in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Over 1,000 police officers will be deployed, including regular law enforcement, National Security Forces, and RENEA, along with civilian agents to ensure the smooth conduct of the demonstration.
Traffic and Parking Restrictions:
- From 11:45 PM on Thursday, parking will be prohibited on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, from the “Ura e Dajtit” area to Ismail Qemali Street, until the protest concludes.
- From 3:00 PM until the end of the protest, vehicle movement will be blocked on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard (from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to “Nënë Tereza” Square) and on the streets “Ukraina e Lirë,” “Papa Gjon Pali II,” and “Ismail Qemali”.
- Depending on developments during the protest, traffic restrictions may extend to other roads.
The Tirana Police have planned alternative routes for vehicles in case of road closures and urged citizens to avoid traveling on blocked roads to ensure the free movement of protest participants.
Authorities also appeal to citizens to maintain distance and avoid engagement with illegal actions that threaten public order and safety.
