A heated parliamentary session in Albania escalated into physical confrontation when Democratic Party (PD) MP Flamur Noka threw a water bottle at Minister of State Taulant Balla.

The incident occurred while Balla was addressing the parliament. Noka swiftly approached the podium and hurled the bottle, prompting the intervention of the parliamentary security unit, known as the Guard of the Republic. Despite their efforts, the projectile reached Balla, further intensifying the tensions in the chamber.

Immediate Repercussions

Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali swiftly expelled Noka from the session, citing violations of parliamentary conduct. The session was temporarily suspended to restore order.

This altercation highlights the deepening political rift in Albania, where clashes between the ruling Socialist Party (PS) and the opposition have frequently disrupted legislative proceedings.

More updates to follow as the situation develops.
