Following the May 11 elections in Albania, members of parliament will return to legislative duties next week.

On Thursday, May 29, the Speaker of Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, signed the order for the plenary session to be held at 12:00 PM, reports Euronews.al.

According to the official calendar, parliamentary work will continue until July 8.

During this transitional period, before the new legislature officially begins, the Albanian Parliament is expected to host annual reports from all public institutions, ranging from constitutional bodies to independent agencies. No new laws will be reviewed or approved during this time, as the Constitution prohibits the adoption of laws within 60 days prior to the end of the deputies’ mandates.

The newly elected Parliament is expected to convene on September 9. During this first session, the new MPs will be sworn in, and a new Speaker of Parliament will be elected.
