Albanian Defense Minister Ermal Nufi spoke after the government meeting in Albania regarding decisions made in the military-strategic framework, emphasizing the fulfillment of NATO criteria related to military funding, expenditures, and troop salaries.

He was also asked about Serbia’s ongoing military exercises near Kosovo’s territory, as well as Belgrade’s statements regarding the military agreement and the Albania-Kosovo-Croatia alliance.

Nufi explained to journalists that the security of Albanian territories, including Kosovo, is guaranteed by NATO, of which Albania is a member, and that all strategic and military actions are conducted within the framework of the Alliance’s commitments.

“The Republic of Serbia expresses all the threats it claims, for its own issues, according to its strategic and military documents. Meanwhile, the Republic of Albania conducts all its security policies within NATO. NATO is the strongest alliance in the world, and Albanians should be confident that our entire military doctrine and the preparation of our armed forces are fully aligned with NATO. In this context, the security of Albanian territories and Kosovo is guaranteed as long as the Alliance is present and provides guarantees,” he said.

He further added that perceptions and statements made in this context should not be seen outside Albania’s commitments as a NATO member.

“Consequently, any concerns expressed through the media or official communications regarding the Republic of Albania are always interpreted in coordination and alignment with the Alliance and our partners, and this reassures us as long as we fulfill our obligations and commitments taken together with NATO,” concluded Minister Nufi.
