Albania is moving quickly to receive 64 million euros from the EU’s new growth plan.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the news this morning with his followers on Facebook in his “Sy m’sy” column.
According to the head of government, Albania has met the calendar and program tasks in the process of EU membership.
Of these funds, according to Rama, 30 million are for the state budget and 34 million for infrastructure.
In the same line, Rama emphasized, is North Macedonia.
“We have very positive news from the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, who declared that she congratulates Albania and North Macedonia for the speed in obtaining funding from the new growth plan. This means the fulfillment of tasks according to the agreed calendar and program for the further progress of the country on the path to membership. We are talking about 64 million euros coming from the EU for Albania, 30 million euros are for the state budget to support reforms, and 34 million go through the Western Balkans Investment Fund for infrastructure. This is a clear sign that we are moving quickly according to the pace set for negotiations with the EU.”
Rama also shared a poll from the EU, where 74% of the EU bloc, according to him, believes that their country has benefited from the EU. In these circumstances, Rama says that the vote on May 11 has geopolitical weight to ensure peace and security for our country, reports A2CC.
“From a recent poll conducted in the EU, there is a very surprising result for some and not at all for others. For the first time since this poll was conducted in 1993, there is a record figure: 74% of the EU bloc believes that their country has benefited from the EU and today has other reasons to support the EU. Also, 35% of the supporters of this very significant group for the EU, which has never been so high since 1993, cite peace and security, which is also the reason why I repeat every day that on May 11, the vote has geopolitical weight to ensure peace and security for our country to enter the EU.”
Rama also spoke about the meeting on March 29 in Crete and March 30 in Athens, where he invited compatriots to join this meeting.
