Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, has reacted to the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, following Hamas’ decision to release all Israeli hostages.
In a social media statement, Minister Spiropali described the moment as a ray of hope after two years of despair and recognized the efforts of US President Donald Trump in facilitating progress toward peace.
“Two years of despair following horrific attacks, the news of Hamas’ decision to release all hostages ignites a fragile but precious flame of hope. May this mark the dawn of a new chapter where Israelis and Palestinians can live not in parallel sorrow, but in peace and shared dignity,” Spiropali wrote.
She added that Albania firmly supports every step toward reconciliation and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to regional and global peace.
“Albania welcomes this step with an open heart and unwavering belief in reconciliation, and commends President Trump’s efforts that have brought the Middle East closer to the long-awaited horizon of peace,” she stated.
Earlier, President Trump expressed optimism, declaring that he believes Hamas is “ready for peace”, adding to international hopes for a potential agreement.
