Albanian Expert Pranvera Kastrati Appointed Head of CEFTA Secretariat, Rama Hails as “Moment of Pride”

Pranvera Kastrati, an Albanian trade expert, has been appointed as the new Director of the Secretariat of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

She will lead the institution that coordinates the implementation of the agreement among the seven Western Balkan countries, Moldova, and Georgia, playing a key role in harmonizing trade rules and bringing them closer to the European Union’s single market.

Prime Minister Rama’s Statement

The news was announced by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who stated that Kastrati’s candidacy received support from all CEFTA parties.

“A moment of pride for all, the appointment of Albanian Pranvera Kastrati to the important position of the new Director of the CEFTA Secretariat (Central European Free Trade Agreement). Now a representative of Albania will work effectively with all parties for the implementation of the CEFTA agreement and the fulfillment of joint commitments towards the economic integration of the Western Balkans and the acceleration of integration with the EU single market,” Rama wrote.
