Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, expressed sorrow over the premature passing of Elisabeta Katijaj and Eorda Sinollar, who died in a traffic accident on Saturday morning in Kosovo.

She described them as two energetic women who dedicated their time and talent to Albania and the Albanian diaspora.

Spiropali announced that, as a mark of respect for Elisabeta Katijaj’s life and contributions, the 6th Women in Diaspora Summit in Parma, where Katijaj was expected to participate, will be postponed to a later date.

“In just a few days, we would have been together in Parma for the 6th Women in Diaspora Summit with Elisabeta, but unfortunately, her sudden and untimely departure did not allow this. In honor and respect of her figure and contribution, the summit will be postponed,” Spiropali wrote on social media.

The women lost their lives when their car collided with a truck on the “Ibrahim Rugova” highway. According to police reports, one died at the scene, while the other passed away during transfer from Prizren Hospital to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.
