Albanian President Begaj Departs for U.S. to Attend UN General Assembly

Albanian President Bajram Begaj departed today for the United States, where he will lead the Albanian delegation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week.

According to the Presidency, Begaj will participate in the High-Level Week, taking place in New York from September 22–27, 2025.

During the session, the President is expected to deliver Albania’s address in the General Debate, outlining the country’s positions on key global issues, including international peace and security, multilateralism, sustainable development, and human rights.

Begaj’s agenda also includes participation in several multilateral events, as well as bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state and senior UN officials.

In addition, the President will meet with members of the Albanian diaspora in the U.S. and visit schools where children of the diaspora learn the Albanian language.
